1. When should you book your session?
I only take bookings for newborn shoots before they turn 2 weeks old. This is due to many factors - the main ones being they are more flexible at this age and they tend to stay asleep long enough to capture those stunning newborn poses. The best time to get in touch with me is sometime in your 2nd trimester. We can book a tentative date and if your little one arrives early or late, I will always keep sessions available to cater for a date change.
2. My Studio
The session takes place in my South Lake studio. For directions, please get in touch or visit my "Contact" page.
3. Details of the Session
Before the session try to feed your little one as much as he or she will take. Hopefully, all going to plan, when you arrive your baby will be ready to go and nice and sleepy from the start. Of course, not a lot "goes to plan" with newborns - so we'll play it by ear on the day - so be prepared to go with the flow.
Newborn photography sessions can take approximately 3 hours. This gives us time for things like feeding your baby and discussing exactly what it is you're after as an end product. We definitely don't want to feel rushed. I always say "I'd rather you arrived relaxed and late, than stressed and on time!". I am a very laid back person, who strives to make this part of your baby's journey enjoyable, not stressful.
4. What should you bring?
I tend to photograph your little bundles in the nude - there is something just stunning about the simplicity and beauty of nature. I do make my studio rather warm to keep the baby warm and comfortable. Please keep this in mind when dressing yourself too!
Please feel free to bring snacks or drinks with you. 3 hours is a long time! Also, bear in mind, if you are bringing along your toddler, another parent or helper might be needed to take them to the local park or out for a play, as they won't wish to stay in the studio for 3 hours and newborn poses require a quiet, non-disruptive environment.
Of course, you should remember to bring along your $200 sitting fee on the day. The packages can be ordered and paid for after your images have been presented to you online. To view the package prices, please click here.
5. What next?
I tend to take approximately 2-3 weeks to edit your images. I will then email you with an online gallery link and a password for you to gain access to your images. This will remain active for 2 weeks. You can choose from my packages, otherwise feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss a more personalised package to suit your needs. Once full payment is received your prints or USB will be mailed to you. For prints, canvases or albums - these may take 3-4 weeks for delivery.
Feel free to pass on your log in details to family and friends, so they too can see your images and place an order. Also, feel free to write a review on my Facebook page. I'm able to keep my prices down because I operate purely on word of mouth. I appreciate your kind words, because if you're happy, I'm happy!
